    ABOUT

Supersun are a Glasgow-based band, made up of three siblings and a cousin, delivering blood-harmonies in a new Scottish youth scene. Through melodic instinct and a clear sense of identity, their charming modern psych-pop draws from 90s rhythm and 60s melody, creating something uniquely nostalgic yet radically new.

Celebrating both Glasgow's heritage and future, Supersun are about more than just music. Embodying and driving a new scene and redefining Scottish music in the 2020s, the band are rising with a blossoming cultural movement, with the ambition to shape and champion the culture around them, and ultimately become the sound of Glasgow today.

Since their debut full band show in February 2026 alongside Glasgow icons BMX Bandits and rising group The Cords, Supersun have moved fast — and nowhere is that more obvious than at The Cabbage. Started by the band's frontman, it's grown in a matter of months from a single night into a genuine cultural moment for Scottish youth, with tickets selling out in as little as five minutes. Part Glasgow pop heritage, part youth movement, the party pulls together the sound of the city with a young crowd hungry for something to call their own — and Supersun are becoming exactly that. With the band driving it forward from the front alongside the new wave of Scottish bands, The Cabbage and Supersun have quickly become the sound of a city getting exactly what it's been missing.

Supersun are building momentum elsewhere too, with a fast-growing run of live shows. They're getting ready to join The Bluetones on their 30th anniversary tour of Expecting to Fly, and have quickly secured appearances across the UK including Record Store Day at Mono, Glas Goes Pop, Freakender, Tenement Trail, Manchester Pop Festival, and a festival appearance alongside Inspiral Carpets. It hasn't gone unnoticed by the generation before them either — Gerry Love (Teenage Fanclub), James Kirk (Orange Juice) and Duglas T Stewart (BMX Bandits) have all shared a stage with the band, and vinyl nights with Chris
Geddes (Belle and Sebastian) have brought two eras of Scottish pop even closer together.

Entirely DIY, their debut single 'Shine On' was recorded themselves and hand-packaged as a physical-only flexi disc with a self-made zine, sold exclusively through Monorail for Record Store Day — selling out three times back-to-back on its first day of stock. It's now being rolled out to independent shops and bars across Glasgow as part of a wider campaign to connect with and champion the city’s grassroots.

Five months in, Supersun are laying the foundations for what is shaping up to be a fast-emerging and exciting moment in Glasgow culture and 2020s music.
